gcj-6-jre software package provides Java runtime environment using GIJ/Classpath, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gcj-6-jre
gcj-6-jre is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gcj-6-jre package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gcj-6-jre *
You will get with gcj-6-jre package name, version, architecture and description in a table
